Hmm. Requires a $5,000 tuition + travel fees and doesn’t guarantee anything related to attending the college.

I received a letter in the mail about a program that costs $5,000 in tuition plus travel expenses, but it doesn’t actually guarantee anything in terms of college admission. It seems they found my info through Collegeboard from my PSAT score. After doing some research, I have to say this program seems pointless unless you have connections. It’s basically a short summer seminar that tries to look impressive just because it’s associated with Stanford University. No thanks!

  1. It’s definitely disappointing when programs try to sell themselves as exclusive or prestigious while not offering much in return for the investment. The high cost without any guaranteed benefits can make it feel like a money grab, especially for students who are genuinely interested in gaining opportunities for college. It’s important to weigh the real value of such programs and consider other options that might be more accessible and impactful. Thanks for sharing your experience—I’m sure it will help others make informed decisions!
