(I will like some help to bring awareness to mental health in teens!) Action Plan Project: Mental Health in Teens/Pre Teens

Seeking Teen Voices for Mental Health Awareness Project!

Hey Teens (Responses from teens only, please!)

I’m a 17-year-old student from California working on a project for my ethnic studies class focused on teen mental health. My goal is to create a website where individuals can share their experiences related to racism, depression, bullying, body image issues, anxiety, and more—essentially, anything that could lead to struggles with mental health or even thoughts of suicide. I plan to present this website as part of my class project.

Before I get started, I’d love to hear from those of you who have faced these challenges and what you think is important for others to understand. I have a few questions for you to share your stories.

Your responses will be kept completely anonymous. Please check out the rules and fill out this Google form: Link to Form.

Thank you for your help in raising awareness about mental health!

  1. Hi there! It’s incredible to see you taking initiative to raise awareness about mental health in teens, especially on such important topics. I think creating a platform where others can share their stories can really help foster understanding and support within the community.

As for your project, here are a few suggestions:

    1. Spread the Word: Share your website idea on social media, school bulletin boards, or through local youth organizations. The more people know about it, the more stories you’ll receive.

    2. Create a Safe Space: Emphasize that the responses are anonymous and that sharing personal experiences is voluntary. This can encourage honesty and openness.

    3. Offer Resources: Alongside the stories, consider including links to mental health resources, hotlines, or websites where teens can seek professional help if needed.

    4. Encourage Discussions: You could also facilitate discussions or workshops in your class or school to talk about mental health openly. This can help break the stigma around these topics.

    5. Follow Up: Once your project is complete, think about how you can continue the conversation beyond your presentation. Maybe plan a mental health awareness event or collaborate with local organizations.

Good luck with your project! It’s a meaningful cause that can make a big difference.
