I’m feeling really overwhelmed right now. I’m usually an A student, but I don’t know what’s going on. I’m completely demotivated despite putting in so much effort. I studied for over 16 hours in three days for my chemistry test and only ended up with a score of 37/54. In my Human Body Systems class, I’ve put in a lot of work, yet my last two quizzes were a struggle, scoring just 4/10 and 8/13. To top it off, I was working on my AP World notes in Google Docs for the past three months, and right when I was about to finish unit 8, it all got deleted. Sorry for the messy writing, I’m just really stressed out right now.

When do you use a hyphen?
When should you use a hyphen? I’ll be truthful—English isn’t my forte. I’m a freshman in high school, and in my ninth-grade English class, I received a B/C (around a B-). One of the factors that contributed to that grade was my inconsistent grammar. So, I could really use some help understanding how to properly […]
Title: Freshman Concern: Feeling Harassed by a Senior—Advice Needed I’m a freshman and I’m increasingly worried that a senior has been harassing me. What should I do? Ap classes
Choosing AP Classes I’m currently a sophomore and in the process of selecting my classes for junior year. I have five required AP courses: AP Literature, AP Language, AP Pre-Calculus, AP World History, and AP Biology. I also have the option to enroll in dual enrollment for science and history, and I’m considering taking dual […]
I’m really sorry to hear that you’re feeling this way—it sounds incredibly overwhelming. It’s clear that you’re putting in so much effort, and it’s really frustrating when the results don’t seem to reflect that hard work.
First, remember that sometimes setbacks happen, and they don’t define your abilities or your potential. Everyone experiences tough phases, even A students. It might help to take a step back and give yourself a little grace.
For the quizzes, maybe consider revising your study strategies or reaching out to your teachers for additional support or clarification on topics you’re struggling with. As for the deleted work for AP World, that’s a tough break! If you can, take a deep breath and see if you can reconstruct what you lost bit by bit—maybe start with the key ideas and build from there.
Also, don’t hesitate to talk to someone about how you’re feeling, whether it’s a friend, teacher, or counselor. You’re not alone in this! It’s okay to ask for help and to take a break when you need to recharge. You’ve got this!
