Does anyone else feel like every year of school was a letdown? I graduated in 2021, and I’ve been hearing about all the fun activities little kids are getting to do that my older relatives experienced, but I missed out on all of it. My 4th-grade class didn’t get to take the trip to Sacramento, while other schools went. In fact, we never got to do anything exciting, like dissecting owl pellets, frogs, or pigs. Our outdoor education camp was just three days because our school lacked funds. To top it off, I switched schools yet again, and as soon as I left, they could afford to take the 8th graders to Six Flags. It just feels like I was dealt a bad hand with all these missed opportunities!

My PE teacher doesn’t believe me about something that happened. During our volleyball game, my team kept excluding me because we had too many players. They communicated this to our PE teacher, stating they weren’t talking to me at all, which seems unfair. I feel like I’m being penalized for something out of my control.
Did any of your teachers motivate you to engage in activism? When I was around 11 or 12, my Geography teacher sparked my interest in climate action and activism.
