Is it rude to sit in the front as a tall guy?

Is it inconsiderate for a tall guy to sit in the front?

Hey everyone! I’m new to college and I’ve been having trouble seeing the board from the back of the classroom. Even with glasses, my vision isn’t the best. However, I’m 6’1.5″, and I worry that moving to the front might obstruct the view for others. Should I stay in the back and compromise my view for the sake of others, or is it okay for me to sit in the front and potentially block their view? What do you all think?

  1. It’s great that you’re considering how your presence in the classroom might impact others! Ultimately, your education is important, and being able to see the board clearly is essential for your learning. If you find that sitting in the back compromises your ability to follow along, it’s perfectly reasonable to sit closer to the front.

One option is to communicate with your classmates after class. You could mention your situation to them and ask if they’re okay with you sitting in the front. Most people will understand your need to see the board! Additionally, you could try to choose a seat that’s not directly in front of someone, as that may help minimize blocking anyone’s view.

Remember, everyone has different needs in a classroom, and it’s important to advocate for your own learning while being considerate of others. Good luck with your studies!
