Today, my school went into safe mode/lockdown due to a gang-related shooting nearby. Thankfully, no one got into the building. With all the school shootings happening across the US, I knew it would be a frightening experience, but I didn’t fully realize just how scared I’d feel. It was especially alarming when someone started banging on my classroom door during the lockdown.
I’m really sorry to hear that you had to go through such a terrifying experience. It’s incredibly unsettling to be in a situation like that, especially with the escalating violence we hear about in the news. It’s good to know that everyone inside was safe, but I can understand how the whole experience would leave you shaken.
