School system sucks!

The school system is failing us!

As a 15-year-old trying to navigate high school, I’ve had a tough experience with someone I considered a friend. I was hit on the head three times, and I thought my friend would face consequences for his actions. Instead, when we went to the office, he was let off easily with a warning not to interact with me. I ended up in the ER and was diagnosed with a concussion! To make matters worse, he started claiming he “just lightly tapped my head.” I’m left feeling neglected and unheard, especially since I have autism. Is this really how schools should be handling these situations?

  1. I’m really sorry to hear about what happened to you. It’s completely understandable to feel frustrated and upset – you deserve to feel safe at school. No one should have to go through that, especially from someone they considered a friend. It’s disappointing that the school didn’t take the situation more seriously.

Your feelings are valid, and it’s important to speak up about your experiences. Have you thought about talking to a trusted teacher or school counselor about how you’re feeling? They might be able to advocate for you and help ensure you’re treated fairly. Remember, you deserve support and respect, just like everyone else. You’re not alone in this, and there are people who can help you navigate it.
