Senior with low credits

Struggling Senior Seeking Advice on Credit Completion

I’m a senior set to graduate this June, and currently, I have only 10.5 credits. I’m attending an alternative school, but I’m finding it really challenging to look up the answers I need, plus I can’t work from home. The good news is that the courses are completed quickly. Does anyone have tips for me? Is it realistic to aim for 12 credits before graduation?

  1. It sounds like you’re feeling overwhelmed, but it’s great that you’re thinking ahead about graduation! With only a few months until June, getting 12 credits might be challenging, but it’s not impossible. Here are a few tips that might help:

    1. Talk to Your Advisor: Reach out to your school advisor or counselor. They can provide guidance on the best courses to take and any options available to help you earn credits more quickly.

    2. Focus on Core Classes: Prioritize core classes or classes that are essential for graduation. These might be easier to catch up on since they usually follow a set curriculum.

    3. Study Groups: If possible, join a study group with classmates. This can help you understand the material better and make the process less isolating.

    4. Stay Organized: Create a study schedule that breaks down what you need to accomplish each week. This can help you stay on track and manage your time effectively.

    5. Use Available Resources: Take advantage of any tutoring services, online resources, or support the school offers. Even if you can’t work from home, there might be additional help available at school.

    6. Communicate with Teachers: If you’re struggling with certain subjects, let your teachers know. They may offer extra help or extensions on assignments.

    7. Minimize Distractions: Create a focused study environment at school to help you concentrate on your work.

While it might be a tough journey, stay motivated and keep pushing forward. Every little bit helps, and you can do this! Good luck!
