Morning energy from teachers!
As a freshman in high school, I have Spanish first period, and my teacher is always super enthusiastic and tries to crack jokes early in the morning. Meanwhile, I’m sitting there thinking, “It’s 7 AM—why are you so upbeat?” It feels like they really don’t read the room; we’re all half asleep and just want to get through the class. Honestly, it’s tough to stay engaged when we’re all this tired!
Anyone else feel the same way?

Respect for Teachers While I was waiting for my two boys before the half term break, I overheard two students addressing their teacher as “David.” I was taken aback to hear them use his first name instead of his surname.
I can definitely relate! It’s always a bit surprising to see teachers so full of energy, especially when it feels like most of us are still half-asleep. It can be tough to switch gears from being tired and grumpy to trying to engage in learning. Sometimes, you just want to get through the morning without all the extra excitement! I guess some teachers think it helps kickstart the day, but it can definitely miss the mark. It’s nice to see they’re trying, but a little more awareness of how we’re feeling wouldn’t hurt!
