Understanding Gender Spaces and Diversity: A Student’s Perspective

As a Year 12 student exploring society and culture for my Major Work project, I am investigating a relevant and timely topic: the increasing polarization of homosocial environments and their impact on the inclusion of gender-diverse individuals. My research aims to shed light on how single-gender spaces—such as sports teams, youth groups, religious organizations, and other communal settings—affect gender inclusion and diversity.

If you’re interested in contributing to this important discussion, I invite you to participate in a brief anonymous survey. The survey collects general demographic information, including gender, country, and age group, but does not request any personal identifiers like names or emails. Your insights, especially from those involved in single-gender spaces or identified as gender-diverse or transgender, are highly valuable, as my current response rate is limited.

I also welcome individuals from all backgrounds, recognising the importance of diverse perspectives in understanding this complex issue. Additionally, I am happy to exchange ideas, review similar surveys, or offer advice for fellow students undertaking research projects in society and culture studies—having completed this course in less than a month, I am eager to share what I’ve learned.

Your participation and insights can help deepen understanding of gender spaces and promote inclusivity. Thank you for your support!
