Celebrating a Milestone: Achieving Success in Organic Chemistry

Embarking on a challenging academic journey, I recently completed my Organic Chemistry course with a final score of 91%. While the grading scale designated this as a B, I am genuinely proud of this accomplishment.

This achievement holds particular significance for me because I entered the course without any prior background in Chemistry — not even in high school. Navigating a notoriously difficult subject without foundational knowledge and still managing to secure such a high grade feels like a personal victory.

That said, I must admit there’s a touch of disappointment in falling just 1% short of an A. It’s a reminder of how the nuances of grading scales can influence how we perceive our success.

Speaking of grading scales, I’m curious: does anyone else’s educational institution follow a similar system? During my bachelor’s degree, I remember a 90% being classified as an A-. It’s interesting to see how different schools interpret the same numerical score.

Ultimately, regardless of the exact grade, I believe this experience has strengthened my confidence and perseverance. Here’s to continued growth and learning in the future!
