I’m a failure

Feeling like a failure

To give you some context, I’m 14 and in the 8th grade, about to start high school in a K-12 school. I’m on track with most subjects, but I’m a bit behind in math and English. My teacher mentioned that I might need five years to finish high school. I don’t have any learning disabilities or mental health issues, so I’m really unsure about how to process this. Is this something that’s common?

  1. First of all, I want you to know that feeling overwhelmed or discouraged at times is completely normal, especially as you’re approaching a big transition like high school. Many students experience challenges in different subjects, and it doesn’t define your potential or future success.

It’s important to remember that everyone learns at their own pace. Some subjects may come easier to you than others, and that’s okay. Being a little behind in math and English doesn’t make you a failure; it just means you have some areas where you can grow and improve.

High school can be a new beginning, and many students find their footing in subjects they struggled with before. There are resources available, including tutoring, study groups, and extra help from teachers, that can support you as you work to catch up.

Don’t hesitate to reach out to your teachers or school counselors for guidance. They’re there to help you succeed! Focus on progress, not perfection, and take it one step at a time. You’ve got this!

Mwahhhahh i need my A

Mwahhhahh, I really want that A! We’re graded on a scale of 4 for every assignment, and to earn a 4, you need to go above and beyond — doing something extra or approaching it in a unique or better way than what the teacher demonstrated. I’m not upset at all; I’m actually pleased with […]
