Does anyone else feel like every year of school was a letdown? I graduated in 2021, and I’ve been hearing about all the fun activities little kids are getting to do that my older relatives experienced, but I missed out on all of it. My 4th-grade class didn’t get to take the trip to Sacramento, while other schools went. In fact, we never got to do anything exciting, like dissecting owl pellets, frogs, or pigs. Our outdoor education camp was just three days because our school lacked funds. To top it off, I switched schools yet again, and as soon as I left, they could afford to take the 8th graders to Six Flags. It just feels like I was dealt a bad hand with all these missed opportunities!

Has anyone else experienced this? Every morning when I reach my locker, there’s a group of kids hanging out right in front of it (the one below mine is directly blocking both), and they just linger there until the bell rings. I know it might seem like a small issue, but seriously—PUT YOUR STUFF AWAY […]

The Curious Case of Backpacks in Schools Have you ever felt like your choice of backpack made you stand out in a way you didn’t expect? I totally get where you’re coming from! It sounds like you really missed out on some fun experiences that are often part of the school journey. It’s frustrating to hear about your peers enjoying those opportunities while you didn’t get the same chance. Sometimes, things just don’t line up the way we hope, whether it’s school funds, opportunities, or even bad luck with timing. It’s okay to feel that way! Your experiences were still valid, even if they didn’t include those memorable trips or activities. Have you thought about organizing some fun activities or experiences now that you’ve graduated? It could be a great way to create your own memories!
